Painting a basement

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.43 PM

I'm going to paint my basement. How do I prime and seal the walls ready for painting? Also one room in the basement, the paint has started flaking off and feels chalky, how would prepare the wall for painting?.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

sand everything down, clean the dust and start priming. after the primer if everything looks good you can start putting your colour. in the room make sure you take off the paint make sure the wall is not damaged if it is you have to fix it with easy fill when is dry rabbit down and put primer after that you decorate it with the paint.

Make sure the surface is clean and dry use a good primer first but please be careful and make sure you are wearing a mask or have good ventilation can't be breathing in paint fumes all day STAY SAFE regards Richard
