Hallway - leak from outside - not sure where it’s coming from! Help!
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.44 PM
Hello there, I’ve had a bad leak in the hallway/ back bedroom. It’s coming from outside but not sure where, could be the render on the side of the house, the outside staircase from the upstairs flat or the upstairs door. Have tried a couple of different things but it is just getting worse. Any help/ advice would be appreciated. I’m looking for someone to come out and identify and fix the issue before the weather gets too bad. Thanks!

If it is leaking down the the walls it could be an issue with the guttering/broken roof tile, if the guttering is blocked I.e with leafs etc it could be back spilling with this u could find water ingress coming in through that way, any more questions am happy to help?

Your question is not specific enough for a rough diagnosis.
If it’s dripping , there must be a hole right through the wall.
If it’s only darker or discoloured, it’s most likely to be hygroscopic dampness from too thick interior gypsum plaster .
If it has black spot mould, it can only be condensation .
