Hiding TV Cables on stone cladding over brick fireplace

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.25 PM

Hi, I have just bought a 1960s UK house, we have a brick build fireplace that will home a wood burning stove. We intent to clad the fireplace with cast stone cladding. My question is how would be best to hang a 55" tv on this and hide the cables. Can these run behind the stone cladding? There's no drywall / plasterboard type hollow space that could be utilised. Thanks Chris

You can run the cable behind the cladding but if your sticking with adhesive then it’s best to protect the cable with sheafing or even just wrapping some duct tape to prevent the adhesive touching the cable. Or if you put Wooden Batton on the wall and fix your cladding to that then you the cable can just drop behind your cladding, also TVs can get hot and if your having a working log burner below be careful as that could cause your tv to overheat, hope that’s helpful

You can run behind cladding but make sure you protect the cables with conduit. Make sure you don’t damage the cables.
