Bouncy floor in kitchen near sink - do we need a flooring expert or a builder?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.25 PM
We had an ongoing issue with water leaks from both a washing machine and pipes under the sink (now resolved). We think joists near the sink were damaged by the water leaks, causing a small area of the floor to bounce and some of the laminate flooring is showing gaps due to some sagging. Please advise on whether we contact a builder or flooring fitter to investigate the state of the joists. Thanks for your reply Connor.

Hello. Best option I think would be to contact a carpenter or a builder.

Probably require a good joiner as sounds like joist will need repaired or replaced.

A joiner will fix that for you no problem if its chipboard flooring under the laminate it'll have been damaged with the water leak

Because of long term water leak, its look like joists are damaged by water .
My suggestion is get builder to open up this area to check and do remedial asap before its damaged more to other area .( Wet rot) .
Regards.
