Do I need an extractor fan in my new toilet?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.40 PM

I am converting a loft and I am putting in a w/c with just a toilet and hand basin. This room will have a Velux in the roof so will I need a separate extractor fan? Also are there any height restrictions above a toilet as I have a slopping roof?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You will need a extractor. If it won't go above toilet you can get ceiling fitting kits.

You dont have to put in an extractor fan unless you have a shower fitted but its always good practice to try and fit one if you can. Height restrictions above toilet, no real regulations but aslong as standard size person can stand up I would go with that or slightly move the toilet as nobody likes banging their head a 3am whilst visiting the loo.
