Hot water coming from all taps, aside kitchen tap
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.02 PM
Hi, Our kitchen tap is suddenly not getting any hot water from the boiler, it just runs cold indefinitely. We have tried other taps in the house, bathroom, shower, all getting hot water as normal. When we run the kitchen tap, it doesn't kick the boiler into action as the others do. All valves on the pipes are open, and we haven't changed anything. What could this be please? Thank you in advance.

Hello Leigh, sounds to me that the hot water port in the cartridge of the tap is blocked. I would recommend getting the cartridge changed on the tap. Hope this helps.

Hello Leigh, Sometimes it can be due to a broken cartridge from the inside and it is actually closed from the inside when you open the valve. However, if it's break or block, you need to replace the cartridge.

You say the water is running fine but running cold instead of hot? Can I ask if there is a thermostatic blending valve on the hot feed to the tap? If this is faulty it will automatically fail to cold only for safety.
