Rats within internal cavity wall (which houses a soil vent pipe)
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.43 PM
Hi, so some help here I have an internal enclosed cavity wall, small enough to cover up a soil vent pipe This pipe runs from outside the house behind upstairs bathrooms (assuming to the ground foundations) The ground floor single storey rear extension in thiss house ( I imagine than )didn't remove this pipe but built the extension around this At night I have heard gnawing at the ground floor of this cavity wall As the outside is all enclosed, can I ask your advice in what to do? I really don't want to spend funds we don't have tearing the inside of the house and outside just to get access to this part Am I right to assume the rat has eaten through the pipe? Or they are entering the pipe from under the house? Or the pipe is potentially open/uncapped? What could happen if this is left as is?
