Locating stopcock

I've just moved into a house and I can't find the water stopcock. The previous owners said it's in the patio. All I can find is a small manhole, I can barely get my arm down it. There is a meter which is difficult to read, that's it! Not sure how or if I can upload but I have a picture. The house was built in the 1930's Thanks for any help M

I doubt to be on the patio. Is more than likely in the house somewhere. Could be behind the sink or behind a kitchen cabinet. It’ll look like an outside tap. Failing that you can turn it off from the mains supply where it comes in from the road.

It's been suggested . If you can't find the internal stopcock the easiest solution would be to turn it off at the point of entry from the street. Buy a key from screwfix they are not expensive and handy for any future projects or emergency situations.
