House brick in the top of my toilet

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.42 PM

Please can someone explain why there’s a house brick inside the top of my Toilet when I take the lid off the system, I haven’t long moved into the property, is it safe to remove it? Thanks

It's more than likely there to displace water so it doesn't use as much per flush. You can buy gadgets that do the same.

I would think it was put in there to save water . On older systems ,there was no control with the amount of water used as there is today ,so with the brick in there it takes less water to fill up ...hope this helps . Nick at alljobsdone
