Why would the soffit of dormer loft flat roof be dripping and only on one side

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.42 PM

Had a lift conversion done. Completed June 21. Noticed damp patches on flat roof ceiling. After very heavy rain noticed the soffit on one side of the French doors was dripping. What would cause this? We didn't have gutters at the time. Now we have and we still get the same issue. Weve now been told the French doors are fitted very badly and let water in when it rains heavy. Think the dripping on the soffit causes this too. We have since had lead soakers and lead flashing done around dormer, as this was missing by original roofer. Bits been at total nightmare. Any advise would be appreciated

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Sounds to me your roof is leaking, that’s the only way water is gonna get into the soffits. Regards Frankie BT Roofing Services Limited

without looking its impossible to say what is wrong, but sounds like your tradesman done a bad job, was the job signed off by building control. you could get the original tradesman back to correct his mistakes as I presume he gave some sort of warranty. but I wouldn't hold my breathe, unfortunately as Frankie has said it really sounds like your roof is leaking & it all needs redone correctly, good luck Alex

Must be the roof could be a broken till or some led has come away but without looking I would say the roof is the issue
