Blockwork laid on wood floor boards
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.44 PM
Gents, And Ladies.. I have a bungalow, built 1936. I have two cupboard's both of lightweight block construction, build directly onto the existing 18mm (Approx) floor board (original floor). No joist apparent directly below and ends at ceiling height. The joists in the loft run parallel to either side of these two cupboard's, so its seems not to be supporting anything? Does that seem correct ?, Looking at removing them and replacing with stud so I can hide services in them.

Replace them with stud walls a timber base isn't a structural platform to build of so can't be a load bearing wall
