Plumbing

toilet and basin in loft area

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.44 PM

Hi, we have an accessible loft and i'm thinking of adding a toilet and basin there - next to the boiler. It is not a converted loft so I'm wondering whether this would require some kind of permit. The toilet can go directly above the existing toilet and link to the existing soil pipe.

Hi In answer to your question yes you would need a change of use and a building notice from your local council. If your property is a listed building it will need a planning application made out and applied for . If it’s not listed you should be fine with a building notice .
