What kind of tradesman would I need to support a removed chimney?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.44 PM

Hi, We recently had a survey on a property back and received the comment below which I've copied verbatim: "It was noted that the internal chimney breast in this area as been removed up to within the roof void area. On inspection, it was noted that this is supported by means of a timber bearing to the ceiling joists. This will be of inadequate support, and it is advised that structural calculations and added structural support will be required to this area, as this will be of a safety concern." What type of tradesman would I need to contact to deal with this issue?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
