Gas hob 2 burners not working after ignition is released

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.24 PM

Hi, I have a PRIMA 4 burner gas hob. 2 of the gas bruners ignite and works quite fine. When I try to turn the remaining 2 burners, they do ignite and get the gas fire but the minute the release the knob, it stops. If I continue to hold the knob then it will continue to make ignite noise and gas fire will continue. What do you think of the issue? Do you advise me to 1) clean the knobs 2) replace GAS HOB IGNITION SPARK PLUG 3) Replace the hob 4) any other thing to check?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

By my name you can see what I do. This is a thermocouple issue. Relatively inexpensive repair. You need a gas safe registered appliance engineer.

check the gas valve and venture ports as they could be blocked.

If you say that the gas flue but doesn’t keep the fire when you leave the handle so there is a piece of bimetallic in the hobe that keep the gas flow as it’s get warm and I think you should check that.
