Installing a balcony on the front of the house
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.24 PM
We live in a rural area and have our kitchen on the first floor to take advantage of the views. We would like to add French windows and a balcony to the front of the property giving access to outside from the kitchen The house is semi detached Georgian style and is not overlooked by other properties. Our next door neighbours would also like to add a balcony to their property so symmetry would not be an issue. What are our chances of getting planning permission and what’s the best way of planning the project?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It’s simple ask the planning department if there are going to be any objections to the proposed works to both property’s.
If you get no objections crack on !!!!!

It is best to start by discussing with your architect, and he will guide you according to the laws. If you do not have an architect you can contact the council where you live.
