Can one brick be removed from an exterior house wall and not replaced?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.24 PM
I asked my plumber to put an airbrick in my exterior chimney wall after He'd removed a gas fire and bricked the chimney up. He's removed a brick and attached a plastic vent over the space where the brick was, will this weaken the wall having a space where the brick was? (The house was built in 1914)

you asked for an air brick not a plastic vent as such you should get an air brick, your plumber needs to correct this, I am more interested in what is holding the vent in place,
its not really that hard to fit an air brick.
good luck Alex

An air brick would be a better way of doing it than just fitting an air vent
