Salus Thermostat and Boiler don't seem to be pairing up
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.56 PM
We have a Vaillant Ecotec boiler and we use a Salus Thermostat (model no RT500RF) to get our heating on. Everything seems fine, the little flame come on the Thermostat etc, but the radiators just won't go on! Any advice would be much appreciated

Yes..it could be the stat but its just a current breaker so its worth checking the boiler ie pump running plus fan are the most common cause or possibly a problem with the boilers control circuit board? Also check for a reset control or try switching the boiler from mains and re-start? Good luck..rob campbell.

If the salus stat is battery powered I suggest replacing with quality long lasting powerful battery such as duracell or similar....
Communication issues are the most likely problem here I'm thinking.....
Reset and reconnect the receiver after new batteries are fitted ...
Another possibility is boiler set into holiday mode ...
This can be found displayed with a symbol of a radiator with a cross through it on lcd display panel ....
Otherwise the boiler would be displaying a fault if there was a boiler issue...
Am I correct in thinking hot water is working OK?
Thanks Carl

It seems your stat has lost communication with the receiver. You should have an override button on the receiver press that and your heating should come on. If the boiler was at fault you would get an error code F- then a number for example the most comman F22 for low pressure I'd scrap the salus and fit a honeywell much better all round
