Is this a bad time to build an extension?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.02 PM

Are material costs extremely high at the moment and are they likely to ever go back down? Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Material costs will always fluctuate depending on supply and demand, some have gone back down in price some have continued to rise. No time is a bad time to build an extension, if your need/want for an extension is high and you will benefit from it then go for it. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly

yes material costs are high at the moment, demand is out stripping supply on some products with limits on certain items also. its like anything as soon as demand eases you will probably be able to get better prices with a bit of negotiation. But will waiting to save a few quid be better than having the space you need now.

Materials will eventually go down in price who can say when? Due to the pandemic and brexit but building any time will make you money in the long run and a bigger better happier home .👍🏻.
