Change the shower cartridge thermostat

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.01 PM

I recently had to change the thermostat cartridge of my shower since the shower only went hot and luke warm but never cold. I replaced the cartridge already however the problem is still there. I'd need to know how to adjust the cartridge properly or if the problem is somewhere else. This is the mentioned cartridge: Thermostatic Cartridge for Crosswater CA43-29 KL4000RC https://www.divapor.com/spares/showers/thermostatic-cartridge/crosswater-ca43-29-thermostatic-cartridge-used-on-kelly-hoppen-belgravia-kai-wisp.php

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Could be piped up wrong, the left side should be hot and the right side cold. If you removed the handle that the thermostat is on, and run the shower you can adjust it. Then fix it in place once correct.

Did you check you fitted the new cartridge in the same position as the original? On the link you provided, the instructions say the lug must be in the 2 o'clock position.

The instructions will tell you how. The point at which you need to press in the safety button to go beyond 40 plus degrees is your reference. To do properly you are advised to use a thermometer. I do it by hand. Set it to medium then set the temp knob so the safety needs to be depressed if increasing the temp. Never too hot in houses with kids or the elderly.
