carpet-Underlays

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.01 PM

Hi Could anyone please advice underlay 9mm high density (Renu) or 11mm Cloud 9 which one is better for underlays including lounge, living rooms, bedrooms and stairs or should you recommend different thickness for different rooms? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If you use cloud 9, then i would recommend there crystal cavier quality which comes in 9mm and 11mm thickness, you can also use cloud 9 charlston which again comes in 9mm and 11mm thickness, both are recommend in heavy commercial use

If you choose the 11mm underlay, this gives a nice feel underfoot. I would also use it in all rooms and the stairs giving the same feel across the house.

Based on my many years of carpet fitting, I would also use Cloud Nine underlay 9mm Cirrus as 11mm underlay tends to dent with furniture. 9mm is ideal and also prevents the need to cut doors/wardrobes. With regards to domestic usage - I would use felt underlay.
