Dry ridge fixing screws - weather tight?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.42 PM
I have installed a dry Ridge system on my garage roof to ridge previous mortar joins after a Ridge leak (solid DIY-er). My question is how screwing the central clamps on each union join is weather / water tight? The screw is recessed so no water can enter that way, but under the head of that central clamp you can see the shaft of the screw and after testing it is possible for water to enter here and track down the screw to the membrane, the hole made by the screw and contact with batten in the roof. Any experience of this? Any solutions from the trade? Much appreciated.

Hi. The centre clamp which should be in contact with both joining ridge tiles should have a sponge washer on the underside which prevents water ingress. If this washer is not present there will be sliggt water penetration

The joint that the ridges sit on where also the screw goes through seals it
