Need power to garage that has no mains.

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.42 PM

I am building a drum room in my garage and need power but my garage doesn't have mains power and it's to far away to get a cable from my house. Can I use a car/leisure battery to a inverter? I need lights and 2 maybe 4 plug sockets. Is this possible?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi. Use solar panels so you have power most of the time in the garage as well solar charging the battery during day time and Inverters use battery power to make 220v during night time.

Yes you can, so long as a) The inverter is large enough to take the load b) you have a way of recharging it (solar) c) If you are going to use solar to recharge it, then you will need a conditioning charging device. d) Ensure the inverter is a pure sine wave device.
