Wooden house protective coating - what type to choose?
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.44 PM
I have recently bought a house that has a gorgeous Wendy wooden house in the garden. However, unfortunately, the previous owners didn't take much care of it, and it has weathered. I was wondering what type of coating should I apply to its walls to avoid and repair the dump / wood rotting? Should I use wood stain, or decking oil, or anything else? Thank you a lot! Marko

Start by replace any rotten planking treat with a wood preservative not creosote there are plenty of wood shade stains with the right colours or if natural clear coat varnishes example is saddolins they have preservative in them another type is sikkens as I haven't seen this building it is difficult to judge this but you should attempt to renovate rather than scrap your Wendy house unless it's all damaged by rot

I would start by having a look for any rotten timbers which might need to be changed out. Then treating with Cuprinol wood preservative which you can buy from most good hardware shops. It can be painted or sprayed from with a nap sack. Good Luck
