Wall Starter Kit with soft joint
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.43 PM
I am joining a new wall to an existing one and so will be using a wall starter. The notes on the engineers drawings state that I need to use a soft joint with mastic finish. I will be joining to a 90 degree section so a 'T' junction and therefore an outer wall becoming interior and so have read about vertical DPC being needed. My question is, how do I combine the wall starter system with a soft joint? Does it go in-between the wall starter and old wall, meaning I might need longer screws and be careful not to squash it as I tighten up, or does it go between the wall starter and new wall meaning that I will need to poke the slide wall ties through the soft joint material?
