What is going on with the combi boiler pressure?
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.43 PM
The pressure relief valve was replaced the other day and for a few days the boiler pressure was fine. Now the boiler pressure stays at 1.5 for hours and hours and then out of the blue it drops to 1.1 so we carefully put water in to repressurise to 1.3 and a a second later the pressure is 1.8. Any one have any suggestions?

The pressure in the boiler will fluctuate when there is a demand for heating or hot water.
I believe this is why when you topped it up, the additional pressure returned once it had stopped running.
I would not top it up further and keep it below 2.
If the pressure frequently drops below 1 it would indicate a leak.

Boiler pressure should always be between 1 & 1.5 bar..: possible reason for drop in pressure very small leak on heating system? Or expansion vessel needs replaced charging or replacing. Gas safe engineer to check this
