Height of toilet waste pipe

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.24 PM

My toilet exit waste pipe (through the wall into the soil stack) is 200mm to the mid point from the floor. All new toilets seem to be 180mm. Does the exit waste pipe have to be moved, or are there toilets with a higher pipe outlet? Or some other solution? Thank you. Thanks for the replies - that's very helpful.

Hello, you may be able to cut the pipe flush with the wall and then use a flexible connector. It shouldn’t be a problem.

The toilet either needs to be raised on a plinth or the waste will need to be moved on the soil stack to accommodate the toilet waste

You can purchase toilets with alternate centres. You will most likely find one you need at 200mm. If not, you could always build a small base underneath your toilet to raise it to the correct height. However, 20mm shouldn’t be to bad as the flow of water when flushing should get over that. Cut your pipe flush with the wall and use a long pan con, this may give you slightly more play when installing between the wall and the back of the pan.

You could always use an offset connector. A flexible connector would be best if you have the room between pan and pipe/wall.
