How can I remedy a damp garage caused by bricks below DPC
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.24 PM
Hello I'm wanting to use my garage as a wood workshop however I have a damp issue at the bottom of the walls and it makes everything that is touching the floor and up close to the walls mouldy/rotten. My garage is single-skin brick built in the 60s and the problem is that the DPC is about 70mm higher than the concrete floor inside, therefore all the bricks below that level are understandably damp and transfer moisture inside. I'm looking for any ideas how I could go about fixing this issue without breaking the bank. It doesn't need to look amazing as it's only a workshop but I do want to make sure it does the job properly. Many thanks
