Ask a questionBathroom Fitting
Replacing a mixer shower with an electric shower.

I have what I think is a mixer shower, it uses water from my hot water tank. I'd like to have an electric shower fitted so I don't need to wait for water to be heated. Do I need an electrician or a plumber for this?

Both usually, the electrician to wire it all up and a plumber to get a cold feed to it. As you have a mixer tap the electric shower only needs a cold feed to it.

Hi you would actually need both an electrician and plumber as it needs to be done safely and right.

Definitely plumber to get preferred "cold main" feed to point.
Then electrician for independent
hard wired feed from your consumer unit to a double pole switch sited anywhere outside the shower area.
