Kitchen Fitting

Sink removal/ Access to running water

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.39 PM

Hi I am having kitchen fitted by a company but I want to having the kitchen removed and plastered/ skimmed by a separate tradesman ( to keep costs down) . I want to know once the sink is removed, but walls have been plastered and I am awaiting the fitting of the kitchen (including sink etc) . Will my water supply have to remain off or is their a way I can have the water on so I can use the loo and and bath etc?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, the pipes feeding your sink should have seperate isolation valves, so once the sink has been removed, the pipes feeding the old sink can be isolated or capped off which means the water feeding the rest of the house can be switched back on while you are awaiting your new kitchen and new sink.

Yes there should be isolation value on hot and cold feed if not put them on and you can still use water anywhere else in the property

Hello. Once the kitchen is removed and you need to contact a plumber. He must follow the plan of the new kitchen. Then he must to find the new sink unit position and he must plumb hot and cold water pipes, dishwasher and washing machine if are in the kitchen with stop valves in the end. After this switch on the main valve and you will have water in all house.
