Estimated lateral distortion of 30mm on gable wall

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.42 PM

A structural survey on my property found an estimated lateral distortion of 30mm. The distortion is most prominent around the first floor and roof levels. There is no structural cracking evident to the wall. There is no evidence of any foundation movement having affected the wall. The property is Victorian and the solid nature of the wall construction over a significant height and the lack of lateral restraint at a high level has allowed the wall to become distorted laterally at a high level. Is this something that needs to be addressed urgently or something that requires monitoring?

Unless you see internal movements, or purlin shifts, no worries.
