Would you hire a professional to turn this patio to lawn?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.41 PM

Hello, we are buying a property with a garden covered in paving slabs with mortar in between. It looks pretty solid and can’t be lifted with just a shovel, though it would probably come up with a sledgehammer. How much of this work - including laying turf - do you think we could do ourselves with two fit young(ish) adults? I know it depends on what’s underneath etc..

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi jelgot lifting a patio is quite a job to undertake its heavy and tiring. me personally if I can get a digger into a garden that's what I would do a digger would make light work of it. It will do the work of several men and not fatigue

It’s will be a tough job. You would need to remove up to 150mm down to allow for sufficient top soil. Make sure you have correct tools and top turf and soil and it should go well. Good luck!!

Hello there, if a skip is provided then this could be done with a ground breaker. It will require a lot of man hours and hard work but this could be done quite easily.
