Wallpaper removal

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.43 PM

What’s the best way to remove wallpaper? I bought a razor scraper from Screwfix as I’d been told it was a game changer and it’s no better than a standard scraper. Just moved and have a lot of wallpaper removal ahead of me! Thanks in advance to anyone who puts me on the right track.

The best way I find is to use a fence spray bottle and fill with water and a bit of washing up liquid. If you soak the whole wall and keep going back it should make it easier to remove.

I agree with the water spray,if you use a steamer more often than not they blow the plaster. Then your faced with a replastering bill.It takes time but its the only way

A wallpaper steamer and scraper is the best way and you can pick them up easily in Screwfix and Toolstation. Just be careful not to over use the steamer as it can start to damage the plaster if used too long in one place. Good luck.
