Open vent baxi 400 heat not refilling, boiler running ok

Hi I refilled my system and f&e tank is full. Bled rads but upstairs rads not full. Bled pump but no air or water released. All red valves, pump valves and filter valves turned on, boiler fires on either heat or hot water or both. Drain valves on cylinder cold feed and cylinder boiler return release no water. How to get water back in system? Thanks!

Probably a sludge blockage somehwhere which is pulling a vacuum on the system. Would reccomend a powerflush

Yes sounds like sludge and a powerflush will do no harm, also could be air lock so might be worth converting system to a pressurised system by fitting an expansion vessel in place of open vent and a mains fed filling loop

no water in upstairs rads after bleeding them indicates a blocked cold feed, trace pipe work from F&E tank to connection on return pipe to boiler. cut out "TEE" and check for blockage after draining system of course. in my experiences a powerflush will not move a solid blockage.

There's likely to be a blockage on the feed pipe it's usually just before the pump
The engineer needs to isolate the tank and drain the system, cut a section of the feed pipe and ublock it
Refit and fill up, a powerflush will stop it happening again
