Gurgling radiator when off & toilets or taps used

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.24 PM

Usually nothing wrong with the heating but the last couple of months (heating has been off), whenever we use a tap or flush a toilet anywhere in the house, the radiator gurgles loudly for a few seconds. The radiator in question is in the loft extension, built about 12 years ago & no problems before. We’ve bled all the radiators but no air. What could be the cause / fix?

is it a sealed system and is the filling loop off, if not could be getting heating water into the drinking water if the check valve has failed. if its a open system with water storage tank the coil in the cylinder could be compromised. hard to say without more info on the system. I would recommend getting someone out to check it over
