Will matt emulsion scratch off easily on zinsser bullseye 123

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.23 PM

Hi, I am painting in an commercial office and need to prime the fire doors (wood) and metal skirting boards, so I can paint them matt black. I'm going to use bullseye 123 to prime both surfaces and dulux trade matt black on top. But I want to know when I put the matt black on will it scratch off easily?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

'Matt emulsion' on doors and skirts?? Find a good independent decorators merchants. Have a chat with them. They should be able to mix up some paint in black for you, the correct trim paint

If you are wanting to use the same paint on both you could try Zinsser allcoat exterior. It's designed with exterior in mind but also suitable for interiors. But it will self prime and go on wood and metal. I'm not sure if they do matt though but any matt finish is going to scratch easily and show marks unles you give it a protective coat of matt varnish.

on the metalwork i would recommend you use a cellulose based paint such as japlac or hammerite..but yes zinsser primers are good products, personally i would opt for the b.i.n primer rather than the 123....
