Remove BR radiator connected to boiler

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.23 PM

I have a tall upright designer radiator, in my bathroom, that is on the a side cupboard stud wall and is connected to the boiler, that is in this cupboard. I'm replacing this radiator and need to cut off the two pipes inside the cupboard, leading to the boiler so, I can replace the tiles. Do I have to drain my system or, is there and easier way to temporarily cap these two pipes off?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If there’s no isolation valves in the cupboard on the pipe work going to the radiator your talking about , then yes you have to drain the whole system down

It’s either drain the system down or you could pipe freeze the pipes and put isolating valves on

Make sure though if you do drain the system, that, when you are finished you add inhibitor back into the system as you will lose any when draining.
