Repair/replacement of the front of a wooden shed

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.23 PM

I wanted somebody to replace/repair the front of my wooden shed ( which is rotten at the bottow. I want to replace the complete front ( as all the other sides are ok). I initially advertise for a carpenter. They all refused the job or didn't answer. I decided to put the advert on handymen, I only had 1 answer and he till hasn't turned up. What should I do?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Strip the front cladding off. Check to see if there's any rot in the frame work replace like for like if rotten. Using the old door as a template to make a new one. Then reclad the rest of shed and rehang the new door

IT would have been cheaper to buy a new shed. Would have had a guarantee with it.

Once you take the front of ... buy the same wood and copy to what you took off . Use old as template.
