Low water pressure in one of the bathrooms upstairs

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.39 PM

There are two bathrooms upstairs in my house. The pressure is ok in one, but it is painfully low in the other one. The water pressure downstairs is adequate. We replaced the combination valve which did not make any difference. Could you please tell me what might be the cause? Could it be the supply pipes are clogged? I would greatly appreciate your help. Update The system is conventional boiler and indirect megaflo. The bathroom is not an additional. The pressure never was great but usable. The basin in the same bathroom ok but the shower is so low it is unusable. The shower valve installed says it is adequate from 0.2 pressure. It was ok for a week or so and then it dropped.

Water presure is usually pretty consistent throughout a property and often lower on the higher levels that’s gravity. If there is a problem it is more likely to be a restriction in the all important flow. This could be as simple as a kinked flexible connector or a crushed pipe to small diameter pipe. Toilet valves can block with debris so can taps, rubber washers can fail and block the valve. Some taps are not suitable for low pressure area’s . The question is a bit vague as to which unit is suffering is it a toilet or a sink bath or shower or all.

As stated by the other plumber the question is very vague. Does not state type of system, is it microbore. Is the bathroom affected an addiction to the original system . Has the water pressure always been this way or has it recently dropped? Are high pressure taps/shower fitted to a low pressure system. Are the isolation valves full bore. Too many variables without more information.
