Bathroom Fitting

Can I fit a bath without removing existing tiles?

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.47 PM

We currently have a shower enclosure in our small bathroom. It's rectangular and in the corner of the room so the enclosure has two sides, the other two sides are the walls of the bathroom which are tiled from floor to ceiling. We wanted to take out the shower enclosure (keeping the shower which is on the wall) and fit a bath. However we don't want to replace all the tiles as there's nothing wrong with them. Would we need to remove the tiles where the bath is going or can we fit the bath with the tiles still there? We can not use a free standing bath as we are keeping the shower above the bath. Any advice much appreciated.

Hi Claire & Daniel, yes it is possible. a cutter can be used to cut a line throught the tiles dependant on what type of tiles they are. If there ceramic it fairly easy but if natural stone/porcelain then i would hire a tradesman to do it prefrably a quallified tiler from this site. the bath can then be slipped in at the correct height and sealed.
