Can you drills holes through damp broofing plaster board??

Hacking plaster of wall does nothing the walls need to stay as they are drilled and injected before any restoration work is done covering things up does not solve the problem I have come across this it usually lasts about 6 / 8 years then the Damp comes back with vengeance there are several things to consider the worst problem is caused by so called builders as they remove wooden floors and place a concrete floor in its place older property s all had wood floor you can check this on the Heritage property site

I’m concerned for you . Please get a second opinion on this condition, if your contractor suggested the process you’ve described, you’re being set up to fail .

If the walls are injected it means the brick block /stone joints are injected low level to stop rising damp .so wall can be drilled of fixed however you want. There are many types of board but none are classed as Dampproofing board it’s just a covering than gets plastered to finish the wall so there’s no issues at all drilling holes or fixings. If the walls are tanked on the other hand best not to pierce the waterproof layer with anything and stick whatever you can if you need to make holes any hole that pierces tanking the hole needs to be plugged with a waterproof silicone to re seal. Walls are always best open not covered and lime plaster and render should be used to allow walls to breath
