Unusual door sizes 1940mmx710mm
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.41 PM
Hi I have some usual door sizes 1930 x 710 and 1940 x 710mm. Where can I get these I’ve looked everywhere. I don’t really wanna pay £300 a door for bespoke oak. Standard door size are too big and can’t take that much off. I’m sure I’m not the first with this issue. Thanks.

I’m assuming you have the pleasure of living in a terraced house where the most common size of door is 28” or 705-710mm. Unfortunately you will have to scour you local reclamation yard if you need to replace a broken door, but would be very doubtful if you could find oak doors just cos you fancied a change. Embrace the pine!!

Hi Jack
If you ordering solid doors to cut of 50mm not a big deal. 20mm of the top 30mm of the bottom if its not affecting door design. If you cut off cheap lightweight doors you will have to refill the cavity. CLS offcut and Polyurethane glue works a treat for this job. 1981 X 711 (78" X 28") door you can get of the shelf pretty much everywhere.
Good luck mate

you can get 28inch oak doors from good suppliers ,however the more common size is a 27inch door ,you can put a inch plant on into the frame ,if you buy 2 ,one for the rebate and one to act as a door stop ,once painted to blend into the frame it is hard to notice that they are there .hope this helps .

Best option for oak doors is to adust the frame size. The previous answer is correct u can't just by those sizes. But you could make the frames smaller fairly easily if not a bit messy. That's your other option.
