Cable for 300m to mobile home

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 2.55 PM

I'm considering a new underground cable from the existing meter for approx 300m to run a single 1bed mobile home. How thick does the cable need to be? How much power does the mobile home need for an electric shower, cooker and 2 storage heaters?

Due to the voltdrop its possible that you may need a 35mm or even a 50mm cable due to the very very long cable length. A 50mm SWA cable is around £10 per metre, so your looking at £3000 just for the cable and thats before you dig a 450mm deep trench 300m long and lay the cable! - best option is to move the mobile home closer to the supply point.
