Plumbing in washing machine, would plumber hole in cabinet?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.23 PM
Recently had new kitchen cabinets installed but realise that no opening has been made between the washing machine space and the under-sink plumbing. Should I attempt to drill/make hole in the cabinet side or should I expect the plumber to do this.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Good Evening,
The plumber should have a hole saw kit as standard and should be able to do this for you.

Jack

Hi
Any trades person who is installing the washing machine would have the appropriate hole saws to make a opening in the cabinet to get to the pipework.

If you have the hole saw there is no reason not to do it yourself, however, any good plumber would do it when they plumb in the machine

Sometimes there is enough of a void under the drainer to loop the hoses over although it isn’t good practice, any reputable plumber should drill neat holes

I personally would let the plumber do it, he should have a hole saw kit with the right size
