What is the difference between handyman & Painter/Decorator ? I am interested in local tradesmen, how do I narrow this down?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A handyman is someone who can do a lot of tasks,
while a painter is a specialist. They are experts in painting all types of buildings.

I would say a handyman does a bit of everything and has a wide skill set from building and decorating to plumbing etc where as a painter and decorator focuses specifically on painting and decorating and general decor related things. so a handyman could be a one stop shop for your home improvement needs.

A painter and decorator specialises in just that – painting and decorating. Whereas a handyman can carry out a variety of tasks, including basic plumbing, tiling, painting and decorating, carpentry, flooring, and so forth. Handymen usually carry out assembly, repair or maintenance work.
For small paint jobs, a handyman might be your best choice. For larger painting and decorating tasks, a professional painter and decorator would be better suited. I hope that helps.
