Should I ask for a certificate of insurance policies?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.39 PM
I have received a quote for a job that I'm not sure if I should ask for a copy of the insurance policies. It's a relatively small job but I have never used this contractor before. What should I do in this case? Thank you.

What you need to do is check they are registered. This guarantees they are insured and also a minimum level of competency. They can also self certify work with your local building control. Don't need to mess about with bits of paperwork like qualifications and insurance. It's all taken care of for you!

I would never mind being asked for my insurance details, if somebody does take offence or dodges the subject then find somebody else
