Can I add water and power supply into my en block garage?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.39 PM
Hi there, We are really interested in putting in an offer on a terraced house which incl a garage on block. The problem is that the garage doesn't have power and water which is something that we definitely need and placing an offer to buy this property is dependant on whether this is possible. Does anyone know if we could have water and power supply from the garage. The house is in Orpington, London. Thanks in advance.

Yes you can add water and electricity to your garage / contact a fully qualified electrician and plumber and they will install what’s required / it’s not a complicated procedure and in most cases can both be done in one day

As long as the route to the garage is all on your own land you'll have no problem installing water and power.

Hi, Yes you can install a electricity supply and water to garage. A good plumber will also insulate the pipe against frost.

Before you place an offer on the property I would check the route that the electrical and water supply are going to take. If the garage is en bloc I imagine that it will have to cross some communal land that you may have to seek permission to cross/trench. Also the proximity of the supplies in your potential home will have an impact on the route as to whether it's viable.
