Solid ground floor insulation and underfloor heating
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.39 PM
Hi All, Thank you in advance for your advice. I am looking to install wet UFH at ground floor of a house. Current flooring is paraquet on top of solid concrete base and 50mm screed. I am receiving following options but not sure which one to go for. 1. Remove the parquet flooring, pour leveling compound approx 10 mm. Install insulated boards with groves on it for ufh pipes approx 25 mm, put tile boards on top of that and stick tiles. 2. Dig screed upto 50mm, pour leveling compound approx 10 mm. Install DPM, put 50mm pir, staple ufh pipes, pour 50mm screed to bury pipes and leaving expansion gap. Wait to dry and stick tiles. 3. Dig screed and concrete upto 100mm in total. Screw 22mm batons on the existing concrete, lay chip board, lay 100pir, staple ufh pipes, pour 50mm screed to bury pipes and leaving expansion gap. Wait to dry and stick tiles. I'm loosing 50-80 of total ceiling height but that is ok. Please advise which option is better and any correction or other option to be considered. Thank you for your help!
