My hallway paint has been peeling off, how can I remedy this?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.39 PM

Hi ever since painting my hallway, the paint has gradually fallen off in one large spot. picture = https://ibb.co/5L1049d I've started scraping now and it seems the whole walls paint will come off, so should I still use the zinnser over the mist coat?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi It is usually one of a few things. Either the walls are too cold, not primed first, haven’t let the coats dry enough before applying again and, if it’s into new fresh plaster that hasn’t dried out fully. Thanks

Yeah i would have to agree with previous answers, from the picture you have posted looks like new plaster that hasn’t had a mist coat with a watered down emulsion, you might find the rest of it peels away as well if that’s the case. If your lucky and rest isn’t peeling then as above mist coat that area and sand and fill edges and coat again.
