We live in Victorian property age Approx 1896 I believe. Is that what you referred to as old Victorian property ? Old solid wall building I believe. A builder suggested cement render.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Portland cement render will cause untold damage to your victorian property .Don't be swayed into getting it done with portland,
you need a lime base rendering
Go with someone who knows what they're talking about.
