flexible pipes Vs copper pipes

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.41 PM

Hi all, Currently one of my washing machine pipes is connected with a segment which is 'flexi pipe'. Does this need to be changed to a copper pipe eventually (if pipes are able to connect) or can flexi pipes be left alone as they are? thank you, C

If by flexi pipe you mean a shiny braided hose, it is ok to use these but it isn't normal to use them for a wachine machine, if both connections are visible and won't be closed in a wall or a floor then it is OK to leave it but they do eventually start leaking, Ideally you should have copper all the way to the washing machine valve.

I am assuming by flexi pipe you mean pvc pipe. PVC pipes are being used more and more as we move on into the future. The pipe being flexible is an advantage compared to a rigid fixed pipe.
